The Carver Community Center is a nonprofit organization.  It represents the efforts of a number of individual advocates and human service agencies that joined forces to fill gaps in community services.  Agencies involved in the Carver Community Center  partnership include:

Our Mission

The Carver Community Center is a partnership initiative in Cumberland, Maryland established to supplement existing services and to foster systemic change in the greater Allegany County community.  Poverty, chronic unemployment, and a workforce  that is inadequately trained for the information-age economy are key economic drivers fostering change in the area.

Carver Community Center strives to:

Citizen interest in this project spans twenty or more years.  Since 1997, community and government agencies, local business, and residents collaborated to launch the Center.
